Six Weeks, Five Countries - Filming Across Europe

From the cobbled streets of London to the volcanic ridges of Gran Canaria, my latest filming trip was six weeks of non stop variety. I set out to capture the best of Europe.

Relaxing Coastal Villages in Montenegro

Where we shot

Starting in London, we kicked off by capturing the landmarks everyone knows: Tower Bridge, Westminster, and the iconic red buses rolling through the city centre. From there, I swapped busy streets for the Cotswolds’ stone villages, then headed south to Cornwall for cliff top tracks, harbour towns and the turquoise waters of Kynance Cove.

Leaving the UK behind, I flew to Montenegro next. After a few days in Kotor’s old town and its coastal villages, I drove inland to Durmitor National Park - an epic landscape I can’t wait to share on the app! About a week later, Italy was calling. Venice was a must before heading north to the dramatic peaks of the Dolomites.

The final stop was a bit of a wild card, Gran Canaria. It turned out to be the perfect choice, with a huge variety of beaches, mountains, seaside villages and volcanic terrain.

The Shoot Highlight - Wild Horses in Montenegro

Durmitor National Park in Montenegro completely took me by surprise. Towering peaks, wide open meadows and an insane wildlife encounter I’ll never forget. While finishing up a at a hiking location one afternoon, I came across a herd of wild horses with foals. They were calm enough to let me film them up close for quite some time. It was one of those moments you could never plan for, which made it all the more special.

The Challenge - Over Tourism

The biggest challenge of this trip? Filming Europe at the height of summer without another person in sight. Crowds are unavoidable if you visit in person, so every shoot took careful planning, from scouting and timing to pre dawn starts, to make sure you experience each location on Explore POV as if you had it all to yourself.

Seceda, Italy - An area that suffers from overtourism.

Standing on a Dolomites ridgeline with nothing but the view in front of you - that’s the real magic. For me, that’s what makes or breaks an immersive experience. If there’s movement in the background, distractions in the corner of your eye, or noise from a crowd, the sense of presence is gone. But when it’s just you and the scene, uninterrupted, it feels like you’ve been transported there in person and that’s exactly what I want Explore POV to deliver every time.

Coming to Explore POV Soon

This shoot had it all - coastal towns, historic landmarks, rugged mountain ridgelines, peaceful lakes, unforgettable wildlife encounters and some truly breathtaking scenery. The variety of landscapes and experiences means there’s something here for everyone to enjoy.

It feels great to be home, but the real work starts now - it’s time to dive into the edit and start bringing these experiences to life.

I can’t wait for you to see what’s coming to Explore POV. Stay tuned as we start to drop this Europe 2025 content!
